Debbie Alford over at Day 2 Day Personal Concierge is running a competition. She is looking for photos that have her new business name in it.
Well, my boys were bored, so I sent them outside to create an entry!

Yes, they are still in their PJs – it is school holidays after all. It has been wet & raining, but the ground was dry enough to draw on.
Here are the boys proudly showing off their artwork:

And finally, this is the photo heading off to Debbie to enter the competition:

If you want to get involved in the competition, go to her Facebook page.
Oh, and the boys are already talking about what they want to do with their prize!!!

Every now and again, I decide my children are freaks – who else has kids that will go for salad before meat at a BBQ?
Anyway, both my boys love playing Monopoly, and have for years. On Mother’s Day, after we got back from lunch, we (read Mummy) wanted a rest. Mr 8 had other ideas, begging and pleading to play Monopoly.

This is a picture I took of the board on Sunday. I lay on the couch and rested while we played. Mr 8 won, with over $900 in a neat pile of $100 notes – he had those and a few $1, while I had just over $400 in different size notes. We both had a lot of fun.
I’ve found Monopoly to be a great game because it teaches the boys about money. They are familiar with the different notes (even though they look different to the ones in Mummy’s purse) and need to add and subtract. In this game, Mr 8 was banker, so he had to work out change when we bought property or had to pay for anything. There’s also learning about paying rent when you land on a square.
There are also lessons about taking turns and about being a good winner and a good loser.
You will notice the money in the middle of the board. We have made up a rule that if you need to pay tax or a fine, you put the money in the middle of the board and if you land on the “Free Parking” square, you get to keep the money in the middle of the board.
When we had finished the game, Mr 6 decided he wanted to play, but it was time for dinner. I guess I know what we’ll be playing this weekend!

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted here, and I really must keep this blog up to date more!
I came across a great stitching tip over at the Needlework Boutique blog - when you finish stitching for the night, rethread your needle so you’re ready to go the next day. I usually finish the bit I’m working on, then leave the needle unthreaded, but I think I’ll try Bernadette’s tip & see if it helps me to get more stitching done.

OK Bernadette, here’s my progress photo – as of 5pm today… Not the best pic, but you’ll get the idea!

As a busy WAHM, I don’t have a lot of spare time, but when I do have down time, I like doing craft, especially cross stitch & jewellery making.
My latest stitching project is Jardin d’Jour. I recently purchased the kit from Bernadette at The Needlework Boutique as a reward for meeting goals. I have posted a picture of the completed chart…

Rather than the pinks in the picture, I’m stitching in a blue/green or teal thread. It is also the first time I’ve stitched on evenweave rather than aida fabric, so it’s been a learning curve. I’m enjoying the challenge and it’s starting to look great. I’ve done the top left corner so far. I’ll keep you updated with my progress.
